内容介绍:Recent clinical studies have displayed that the homeostatic proliferation of CD4+ T cell is one of the major drivers of HIV infection and persistence, since the replenishment of target T cells offers more chance of being infected with free HIV viruses. We propose and study several HIV infection models with T-cell homeostatic proliferation, which can induce very rich dynamics, such as saddle-node bifurcations, supercritical and subcritical Hopf bifurcations, saddle node bifurcations related to periodic orbits. Besides, we fit the dynamical model to clinical data on long-term CD4+ T cell counts before and after treatment. Our findings emphasize the critical role of T-cell homeostatic proliferation in HIV infection and persistence despite treatment, providing valuable insights for understanding disease progression and developing more effective therapies, potentially towards eradication.
